It could be a long walk through Central Park or trying a new brunch place that’s getting all the hype. It’s discovering something unexpected but wonderful. This is Sunday in New York City.
We spent the day in New York City recently and I always forget how much I love New York until I see that skyline. It was a Sunday, which is always my favorite day in the city. I love how relaxed it feels and the streets are fairly empty, and it’s the perfect city to make brunch an experience.
We were wandering around Chelsea and I discovered Grey Dog! I’d heard about it but never been there and we found it at the perfect time. It wasn’t too busy but had a great brunch crowd. The menu was simple, but the food was great. I could be considered a connoisseur of smoked salmon and toast, and I would rate the smoked salmon at Grey Dog and 8 out of 10. I have to say that what makes Grey Dog great is the combination of atmosphere and the food. The combination of the two is really what makes Grey Dog special.
One of my favorite things about New York City is that there is art everywhere. Even the buildings are art. There’s just SO much to see even walking down the street. That evening we went to Beautiful on Broadway and the musical was SO good. Seeing Carole King’s songs brought to life on stage was so inspiring; her whole story is inspiring.
So more than anything I want to say that Sunday is a great day for spending the day in New York City. The city isn’t as busy, pretty much everything is open, and even some shows are running on Broadway. So, my recommendation, more than anything, is to explore New York City on a Sunday. You won’t be disappointed.
