Guide to New York City

Every time I have the opportunity to visit New York City, I try to make a list beforehand of all the new/interesting/hot places and things I haven’t seen yet.  This trip was no exception and I got to explore a couple places that were incredible.  I also indulged in some tasty treats while I was there, and finally got to see two musicals I’ve been very excited about! Book of Mormon has been an extremely popular musical on Broadway and we happened to win the lottery they hold every day and got front row seats! We also had the chance to see Disaster, the musical by Seth Rudetsky, one of the hosts of SiriusXM’s OnBroadyway channel. In case you’re visiting New York City soon I’ll give details of each place I’m posting about below the photographs!

Black Tap NYC - These shakes are even better than they look. Black Tap NYC – These shakes are even better than they look. Baked by Melissa - These cupcakes are almost gilt free because you can eat about 10 before you reach the size equivalent of a full size cupcake.  Which means 10 different flavors to try! Book of Mormon - Hands down, hysterical.  This musical is exploding with talent and stomach-aching laughter.  It could be considered inappropriate (read: very inappropriate) but if you can take a joke, I highly recommend this show. The High Line - an old train line converted into a walking park that floats above Chelsea.  It's beautiful, free, and very unique. Get Lost - Okay, so this isn't really a place, but it's the best advice I can give.  The best moments of New York City are hidden in the side streets, small shops, and different neighborhoods. This photo was taken on Damien’s first trip to Nashville. We went to find a waterfall that was two hours away and while there ran into a photographer. He offered to take some pictures of us, without knowing it was Damien’s birthday. He emailed them to us a day later. It’s still one of my favorite pictures. #happyvalentinesday @damien_keeter 💕

Leave room for magic✨

I didn’t plan to stand here wearing this shirt and having it blend seamlessly into the lake behind me, but when you leave a little room for magic, ✨magic✨ shows up.

As a way to revisit all my photography from various travels, I’ve started writing stories to go with them, as well as enhancing the photos with graphic art. The stories re-envision the photograph as a passageway to another time or place.

I wrote a book! This is a novel that’s been on my mind for more than 10 years and this winter it finally became a reality. I’ve always loved writing but never thought writing a full length book was the plan, let alone something that could expand into more books! The plan is to explore this world of book publishing together as I figure out the best way to bring this story to life. I’m happy to finally be able to share it with you, even if it’s just the cover for now. It’s been a labor of joy and creativity and I hope you’ll join me as I discover this next “chapter”.
