When I hear this I think of a bar that doesn’t serve alcohol, but this is so much better than that. It’s a blow out bar! Who doesn’t love having their hairs coiffed into perfection…by someone else?! Not only that, but they serve champagne, coffee, tea, and have a great product line as well. You choose your style from a menu and then can customize it. I usually do my own hair, but this is so much fun, I have to go every once in a while. Also, this is not an ad, I genuinely love what Dry Bar is all about.
Chelsea Market
This was something I read about, but it was hidden in a bunch of other information. Now I know why; it’s amazing! If you enjoy pop-up markets, flea markets with small designers, one of kind items, and good food this is the place for you! It’s in an old warehouse and has pretty much everything you could dream up, clothes, jewelry, small restaurants, coffee, ice cream, and more. We picked up some one-of-kind clothing, spices, and perused a plethora of hard to find kitchen accessories.
Guide to New York City
Every time I have the opportunity to visit New York City, I try to make a list beforehand of all the new/interesting/hot places and things I haven’t seen yet. This trip was no exception and I got to explore a couple places that were incredible. I also indulged in some tasty treats while I was there, and finally got to see two musicals I’ve been very excited about! Book of Mormon has been an extremely popular musical on Broadway and we happened to win the lottery they hold every day and got front row seats! We also had the chance to see Disaster, the musical by Seth Rudetsky, one of the hosts of SiriusXM’s OnBroadyway channel. In case you’re visiting New York City soon I’ll give details of each place I’m posting about below the photographs!
Black Tap NYC – These shakes are even better than they look. Baked by Melissa – These cupcakes are almost gilt free because you can eat about 10 before you reach the size equivalent of a full size cupcake. Which means 10 different flavors to try! Book of Mormon – Hands down, hysterical. This musical is exploding with talent and stomach-aching laughter. It could be considered inappropriate (read: very inappropriate) but if you can take a joke, I highly recommend this show. The High Line – an old train line converted into a walking park that floats above Chelsea. It’s beautiful, free, and very unique. 5th Ave – Stroll this street. It’s iconic, beautiful, and if you are headed up the island it leads you right to Central Park! Get Lost – Okay, so this isn’t really a place, but it’s the best advice I can give. The best moments of New York City are hidden in the side streets, small shops, and different neighborhoods.
Playing New York City
I’ve been fortunate enough to have visited New York City multiple times and I love it every time I go. I feel that the city is alive and has a pulse of it’s own, and it’s constantly changing and evolving. Every time I go I find a new place I love, make new friends, see old friends, get lost in the magic of it, and stumble into the most unique places. I got to visit again this past weekend, but this was a VERY SPECIAL TRIP, because it was the first time I got to play a show in New York City! It was such a fantastic experience, and being my first time I was so pleased with how many people showed up and how much they loved my music. Here are some photos from the show and a couple from my adventures around the city. What are your favorite spots in New York?
Photo Shoot for the New Song
I love creating an image, especially for a photo shoot. When you write music you have a vision in your mind of how the story of the song would play out in reality and in video shoots and photo shoots, you get to bring a little bit of the song to life in images. The photo shoot I finished this past week is for my new song that’s coming out very soon! I’m so excited for this song, and I can’t wait for you to hear it! I’ll be posting about it when the song is released and telling the story of the writing process for this particular song. In the mean time here’s some behind the scenes shots.
Easter Sunday
My work trip to Toronto happened to fall right over Easter weekend and I was able to spend some time with my family. We had a great brunch, and had an easter egg hunt at a farm with miniature ponies! Needless to say I was in love and wanted to take all the little ponies home with me. While at the farm I entered a raffle for a carriage ride, and I didn’t really think much of it, but then they called and told me we’d won! So we had a lovely carriage ride to end our Easter Sunday. What are some of your favorite spring activities?
