I went for a little radio run, visiting some radio stations in Canada, at the end of last week and it was definitely a temperature adjustment from Nashville! The radio visits were fun, as the always are, and then I decorated for Christmas! I’ll have a post on that later this week but for now I’m going to share these photos from the first snowfall I experienced this winter. It’s so beautiful when the snow falls, especially after a little rain because the snow sticks to everything and gives it that sugarcoated look! How do you feel about winter, excited? Over it already?
Recharged and Ready!
In an interview someone recently asked me how I find balance. It’s important to find time to be inspired and not just if you’re a creative person in a creative field, we all need time to recharge. Over Thanksgiving I didn’t have good service for almost three days! Which is hardly any time, but really gave me the chance to feel unplugged and enjoy the nature I was surrounded by. I had Audrey with me and I got to laugh until my stomach ached and enjoy my family and time just hanging out with my Mum. I think this experience reminded me how we can get caught living every day and not appreciating the little moments. How do you find time to slow down and appreciate the little things?
Thankful
I have so much to be thankful for, and every year that list seems to grow. I have wonderful people to share life with, I do what I love professionally, and I have wonderful fans and readers like you to be thankful for! I know Thanksgiving is a day, but this whole season reminds me to take stock of all the blessings I’ve been given and really treasure them! What are you thankful for?
Adventure in the Ozarks
I’m so fortunate to get to spend Thanksgiving with my family, and sometimes that means one piece of my family, and sometimes it means another. This year I spent in in Branson Missouri with some of the best people I know on the family ranch. On Thanksgiving morning we went for an early morning drive and discovered all kinds of wildlife on the ranch! I know some people like to hunt but I prefer shooting with my camera lens! How was your Thanksgiving?
Radio Tour Real Life
The past two falls I’ve been in school while being on radio tour, and people always ask me how it’s possible to juggle so much travel with being physically present in class. The truth is, it’s just like anything else, you just do it. I’m so fortunate to be able to work in music because I love it so much, and so if it means early mornings, lots of planes, sometimes trains, and always automobiles, it’s worth it. Today I want to share with you some candid photos; sleeping on the car ride between stations, doing homework in the hotel room, squeezing in some holiday goodness from Starbucks, and an interview at Country 107.3 in Tillsonburg Ontario. What are some things that you love to do, even if at times making it all work can be a fun challenge?
Country 89
I love radio station visits! It’s so much fun to visit with people who also love music. I’ve been to Country 89 in Welland before, but it’s such a fun station to visit and it always makes me feel so special when I think about all the fantastic artists they have visit them and that I get to be a part of that! On this visit I did an on air interview and then got to play a live version of Bad Habit, which is always fun for me because it has a totally different vibe than when it’s played with the band.
