Someone I follow on social media mentioned something about memories today and it really got me thinking.
Memories are so important to make and to have. For me, and probably a lot of people, that means taking a ton of pictures. Even of the mundane things in life that I don’t think are important but I just want to share what I’m doing with someone who isn’t right next to me. It made me realize how much I love all the moments I have captured. I love remembering right where I was when I took them or was in them.
When we were in Colorado I felt almost silly for taking so many pictures. Now I’m realizing how glad I am to have all those memories! It’s only been a week since we got back and I already love reliving the moments from such a great trip. I know this isn’t my usual style of blog. When it hit me today though, how important making memories is, I felt like I had to share with you. I also want to share with you the camera we’ve been using recently because it’s been PERFECT for capturing memories.
I usually use the Canon rebel series for almost everything, but a few months ago I bought the Canon EOS m10 and I’m SO impressed.
It’s so easy to use you can hand it to someone who doesn’t know cameras and still get a great picture. It has a ton of features but it’s also not overwhelming. Best of all there is a variety of lenses for this camera! Yet it’s still small enough for a purse or jacket pocket. So whether you use a great pocket size camera like this one or your phone, don’t be afraid to take a picture or pose for a picture! Don’t even be afraid to ask a stranger to capture a moment of you and a loved one!
Try taking a picture of right where your life is, because good or bad it will change. With a photo or journal you can have the memories to inspire or remind you. Another option is to keep a diary of your days! However you choose to make and mark your memories, do it. Your future self will thank you.
