Trains and NYC

I love New York City, and I’ve seen the holiday movies that are set in New York City in the Christmas, but I hadn’t visited at this time of year until last weekend!  It was gloriously festive, with all the holiday markets, carols playing everywhere, light shows, ice skating, and of course the Rockefeller tree!  We took the train from Newark airport into the city it was a magical start to a Christmas experience in New York!  Even just walking around in the city was more exciting at this time of year, with all the well wishes for a good holiday coming from every person you cross paths with.  I’ll have more photos of my picks of what to do when you visit NYC at this time of year, but for now here are some photos from the train station and one of our first strolls through the snowy city!

Snowy Radio Run

I went for a little radio run, visiting some radio stations in Canada, at the end of last week and it was definitely a temperature adjustment from Nashville! The radio visits were fun, as the always are, and then I decorated for Christmas! I’ll have a post on that later this week but for now I’m going to share these photos from the first snowfall I experienced this winter.  It’s so beautiful when the snow falls, especially after a little rain because the snow sticks to everything and gives it that sugarcoated look!  How do you feel about winter, excited? Over it already?

Thankful

I have so much to be thankful for, and every year that list seems to grow.  I have wonderful people to share life with, I do what I love professionally, and I have wonderful fans and readers like you to be thankful for!  I know Thanksgiving is a day, but this whole season reminds me to take stock of all the blessings I’ve been given and really treasure them! What are you thankful for?

Adventure in the Ozarks

I’m so fortunate to get to spend Thanksgiving with my family, and sometimes that means one piece of my family, and sometimes it means another.  This year I spent in in Branson Missouri with some of the best people I know on the family ranch.  On Thanksgiving morning we went for an early morning drive and discovered all kinds of wildlife on the ranch! I know some people like to hunt but I prefer shooting with my camera lens! How was your Thanksgiving?

Lost In Time in Upstate New York

We were driving in the middle of nowhere, there were old farmhouses every five minutes, then suddenly I saw neon up ahead.  We drove up and there was a classic diner in the middle of all these farms!  Sometimes when touring you drive through some empty areas and stumble into some interesting spots, and this was one of those times. It was a pink building that looked like it had been there since the 50s, and the inside was completely vintage themed as well!  To be quite honest, the best part of the food was the dessert, because the ice cream was like a cloud! It was so fluffy! What’s your favorite spot for a frozen treat?

Favorite Fall Festivities

I love autumn.  I love all seasons, but I really love autumn because it’s the sloping beginning into the holiday season which I’m a huge fan of!  The changing leaves, and the hot drinks, and the sweet memories that always seem to be made this time of year always bring a smile to my face.  I was home in Canada for a couple days between stops on my tour and on one morning we decided to go for a little stroll on the farm to take in the fall foliage and we snapped these pictures!  What’s your favorite part of fall?

Today would have been my beloved Audrey’s sweet 16th birthday. She crossed the rainbow bridge on 5/4/22 and my life will never be the same. She will always be the sweetest, most loyal, perfect girl.

This photo was taken on Damien’s first trip to Nashville. We went to find a waterfall that was two hours away and while there ran into a photographer. He offered to take some pictures of us, without knowing it was Damien’s birthday. He emailed them to us a day later. It’s still one of my favorite pictures. #happyvalentinesday @damien_keeter 💕
