Last Friday was one of the most fun shows I’ve played so far. It started out with a busy day, and then the snow began to fall, and fall, and fall!
We weren’t going to let that stop show time though, and we got ready to rock the stage. The theatre manager was a delight to work with and was so thoughtful the day of the show. The lighting and sound technicians took extra time to make sure our sound check was excellent and that all the lighting cues were set and ready for specific songs. By this time it was 6:20pm and the snow really started coming down. I started to get nervous; what if the weather kept everyone from being able to make it to the show?
But after hearing the warm welcome special guest Paul Lagendyk received from the audience I remembered the weather could never keep people who really wanted to see the show away! When I stepped onto the stage it, it was show time. I was filled with so much excitement to finally be playing my hometown! The rest of the night unfolded into a dream show. Everything went so well and the audience seemed to love my original music as much as our covers. On top of that, our surprise songs and additions that we had added into the set went perfectly and were so much fun!
It was such a delight to be able to look out and see familiar faces and I felt so honored that they took the time on a snowing evening to come here some live music.
After playing many different venues all over it was wonderful to play one that I’ve known for such a long time. I’ve seen other artists play here and it’s a venue so near and dear to my heart. All in all, it was a perfect addition to one of my favorites times of the year. I especially loved that we were able to coordinate a toy drive to occur with the show. It combined my love of music with the holiday season and made for a magical evening onDecember 8th, 2017.
