The Inspiration Trick
What is inspiration to you?
Is Someone Projecting All Over You?
Projecting; is the projection of emotions that exist within an individual onto another individual as a coping mechanism.
This is something people do to others, mostly without meaning to. People use it as a way to avoid confronting something within themselves. Usually feelings, they are uncomfortable with. Unfortunately, the projector person often doesn’t announce to the rest of the world that they are projecting their own issues and insecurities onto everyone else. Which means that often times those projector people are critical and end up hurting others.
Don’t let yourself be falsely labeled by an individual. Just because they are trying to avoid dealing with their own feelings, or because they won’t own their own desires. Projecting can happen in all sorts of ways. There are many examples of this;
- Parents living out their own dreams through their children.
- Someone who is in a bad relationship telling you your relationship if floundering.
- It’s someone with a drug or alcohol problem who accuses anyone who tries to help them of having control issues.
Most of the time the projector doesn’t even see their own behavior. However, that doesn’t mean the rest of us have to blindly allow someone to label us. Just because someone labels you doesn’t make it true.
Before you take someone’s words too heavily, make sure that they aren’t projecting their deep beliefs, fears, and desires, onto you.
Because you are made for so many great things. So much more than just embodying someone else’s fears and problems.

Your Magic Won’t Pass You By
What’s meant for you won’t pass you.
We feel pressure to be the best, be the first, get there before someone else does. This was something I felt on and off for many years in the past. Which was not fun. It can make you lose the excitement for your passion. Sometimes we can forget out magic. But after many years pursuing the passions of my heart I firmly believe that
what’s yours won’t go to someone else.
You’re worried that someone will take your idea at work? They won’t present it like you do. You think someone will steal your song lyric? They won’t word it like you do. That’s the beautiful thing about tapping into your creativity; it’s you! It’s the SUPER POWER only you have. That’s your power. Your mind, your creativity, your ideas.
Dr Seuss said it best, “there’s no one alive who is youer than you!”
You can have hobbies and passions and ideas but it’s the gems that REALLY EXCITE you that matter. The ones that MOTIVATE you enough to pursue a new path; THOSE are the ones meant for you. The ones you wake up thinking about at 2am. AND even if someone else has the same idea, there’s ONLY ONE YOU! Anything you do has your fingerprints on it and that doesn’t change.
Apple has Steve Jobs fingerprints on it.
Henry Ford’s spirit is still alive and well in Ford.
Bill Gates is synonymous with Microsoft.
J.K. Rowling created an entire universe with her heartbeat as it’s life source.
These projects wouldn’t be the world-impacting-forces that they are if they had come from someone else. They might still be great, but they wouldn’t be the ones we know without these people behind them.
Yes, there are collaborators for great ideas, but the person who drives the idea forward; is the one who’s fingerprints will continue on with the idea.
That’s the magic. and YOU HAVE THAT MAGIC.
What Makes You Happy
What makes you happy? What are you passionate about? Is it dancing, fishing, traveling, watching a good movie? What brings you that bubbly feeling of joy?
So many people know what makes them happy but they don’t prioritize it! It falls by the wayside because people end of focusing on what they think HAS to get done. Sometimes this is true. Especially if you’re responsible for someone else (parents I’m looking at you). But it really doesn’t have to be this way. A little finessing is all it takes to adjust your schedule to allow a few extra minutes a day that makeup an hour a week to dedicate to something that really makes you happy.
When you’re comfortable with being uncomfortable this can seem really difficult. Even if you want to make more time for your hobby or passion, you feel guilty doing it because you think you should be somewhere else. The reality is though, that when you show up for yourself, you show up in a better way for everything else!
We all know the people who have made a change in their lives and suddenly became iron-man triathletes, or the mom who started an Etsy business, or the Disney fanatic who turned her loves of Disney into an instagram account with tons of followers who also love Disney!
This could be you! All you have to do is adjust things *slightly* to get a little more time for yourself. By allowing your passions to come out I promise you won’t feel guilty, in fact, you’ll be setting an example for everyone else who’s letting the things they love in life pass them by.
