Laparka in the Winter

Prior to Laparka I was almost always cold.

When you mix that with the time I’ve been spending in a cold climate it can start to feel unbearable.  Please don’t think I don’t know how to layer.  I’ve had multiple coats, and even started wearing two coats at one point!  I thought I would just have to accept the fact that I would always be a little cold in the winter.  That I would never find a jacket that could actually keep my whole body warm.

But that was all before Laparka. This coat is so warm that I don’t need a second one, and sometimes don’t even need a sweater underneath! If you’re from a warm climate I can already here you – “That coat looks like you’re wearing a sleeping bag!” – I get it. I used to live in Georgia and Nevada.  I hear you when you say a coat that long and insulated is unnecessary. But now that I spend time in a cold climate I cannot even explain how much I love having a warm coat.

What I love about this coat though, is all the attention to detail. This coat has many thoughtful features, but one of my favorites is a soft patch at the top of the zipper near your face so that it’s not rough exterior material scratching against your face. The zipper also doesn’t go all the way down so I don’t feel stuck in the jacket but it does have snaps so that my legs don’t get cold!

I don’t spend all my time in the cold, but when I am in a real winter climate it feels so good to know that I don’t actually have to be cold all the time. Tell me your winter tips! What helps you stay warm in the winter?!
