I’d heard all about Chicago, but I was nervous that it wouldn’t live up to the hype…it did! I had such a great time exploring downtown, visiting the Buckingham Fountain, and being a total tourist for a moment and visiting the famous bean sculpture. I love getting to play in different cities all over, but it was a real treat to finally get to visit Chicago! Fashion note – love this came jacket from Free People, it goes with so many outfits, and the pockets make it so convenient to go without a handbag! It makes travel even easier! Do you have a wardrobe staple like this?
Algonquin Park
I love seeing new places, but I also love returning to favorite places. Algonquin Park is very close to my hometown and there is a rock that all of my siblings and I have had pictures taken at. The pictures were all taken when we were small, but I went back recently and took some photos to capture the magic of this spot as an adult. We also found some new spots in the park that I hadn’t seen before. Algonquin Park is massive, so the possibilities to be discovered are nearly endless. I also found this camouflage jacket at Free People and I’m obsessed. I want to wear it everywhere, but I felt it was especially fitting for this pictures. I love being outside, and these photos completely capture that. What is one of your favorite places to revisit?
Exploring Los Angeles
Just exploring Los Angeles is such a good time and it’s also one of the shopping meccas of the world. There is so much variety in this city! Some of my favorite stores in LA are the vintage ones because you never know what you’re going to find! I’ve been to the fashion district in LA and Rodeo Drive, and probably every shopping area in between. Here are some of my favorite areas and shops from my most recent trip.

Musician’s Travel Guide
I travel a lot. When I’m home and I see friends, I always hear, “You’re back!”. I love seeing new places, I always have, but seeing them because I get to play a show? Way, way, way, exciting. One thing I’ve learned though…instruments are heavy, which means unless I want to feel like a sherpa, I have to condense and lose the non-essentials.
Two things I need for every show
- Guitar – obviously.
- Microphone
In my carry-on I try and keep it light because toting a guitar around is heavy enough. But I still work from my computer all the time and what if inspiration strikes?! So this is my list of chic musician carry on essentials. Water bottle not pictured.
- Macbook
- iPad
- iPhone
- notebook
- sunglasses
- wallet
- ear plugs
- chapstick and lipgloss
- perfume
- solar charger
- earbuds
Travel outfits are always tricky, but I try to bring as many versatile pieces as I can. Things that can go from plane to meeting, or from plane to night out.
Here are just a few things I feel are great that can be worn a couple time and still look good.
- black denim
- modal t shirt
- denim shorts
- chambray shirt
- street sneakers
- wedge heels
